Tony TMy name is Tony, I live in Minneapolis, and I love slow cooking. Since I gave up fast food several years ago, I’ve tried to eat a more balanced diet, but I needed some way to substitute the convenience of fast food for something that I could make myself. Since I have limited cooking skills, I also needed foods that would require minimal skill to prepare and would not require much of my time. The food would need to be nutritious and more importantly, it would have to taste good.  Not too much to ask, right? Well, that’s how I discovered slow cooking. It’s really been the best way for me to enjoy terrific meals, save valuable time, and save money on my food bill. I hadn’t realized how much money I spent on “convenience” foods until I began preparing most of my meals with a slow cooker. Wow! The savings really added up. Now, using the slow cooker, I can throw something together in a hurry before I go to work, and when I return home in the evening, dinner is ready. And, I usually have enough leftovers to provide me with another meal or two.

So, for all of you busy people out there who would like to enjoy home-cooked meals more often, don’t forget about that slow cooker collecting dust on your basement shelves. Even if you’re on the tightest budget, a slow cooker is an affordable appliance, providing you with one of the most convenient and economical ways to cook. In my opinion, it’s one of the best kitchen gadgets ever created.
